This special Amarone wine by Bertani comes from the Valpantena hills, in the area north of Verona. It is produced with Veronese 80% and Rondinella 20% from espaliered vines. The grapes are hand-picked starting from mid-September.  They are carefully selected, and only healthy and perfectly ripe bunches are sent to dry in the Fruttaio. Fermentation begins in mid-January approximately, when the grapes are destemmed and crushed. It is aged in Slavonian oak barrels and barriques first, for about 30 months, and then in the bottle for 6 months. The result is a deep red full-bodied wine with purple reflections, characterised by clear aromas of very ripe cherries, black cherries, wild berries, and notes of spices and dried fruit typical of Valpantena, as well as by a red fruit flavour and soft tannins giving consistency to the wine.
